Furnace Cleaning

A clean and well-operating furnace will use less energy and reduce your monthly energy bills. Regular cleaning maintenance of your furnace should be performed to prevent buildup and clogging. Furnaces older than 10 years old should be cleaned every year to ensure problems won't develop, while newer furnaces should be cleaned every couple years. Doing this helps to ensure your furnace lasts longer and operates at maximum efficiency and consistent air flow.  Also remember that is is important to change your air filters on a regular basis every 3 months. Using premium air filters is highly recommended.

HVAC Unit Cleaning

The air conditioner's evaporator coil and condenser coil collect dirt over their months and years of service. A clean filter prevents the evaporator coil from soiling quickly. In time, however, the evaporator coil will still collect dirt. This dirt reduces airflow and insulates the coil reducing its ability to absorb heat. To avoid this problem, you should be cleaning your coil on an annual basis before the heat of the summer starts when you need your air conditioning the most.  You can tell how dirty the coil is by looking at the external fins.

Leaves, grass, and other debris are often either sucked into the unit or blown in. This poses several problems.  Leaf buildup reduces efficiency blocking airflow which in turn makes the unit work harder and increases your utility bills.  Leaves and other debris harbor moisture that can cause sensitive components to rust.  Decaying leaves also give off acidic gasses that can eat away at an AC unit's copper tubing, creating tiny holes for the refrigerant to escape.  During the winter months it is best to cover your AC unit to keep it protected from excess moisture and the elements.
